Biosketch

Holland joined HFASt as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in January 2021, where she works under the supervision of Professor Birsen Donmez. She received her BS (2013) in Psychology from Virginia Tech. She transitioned to the field of human factors and obtained an MASc (2015) from Virginia Tech under the supervision of Professor Joe Gabbard. Her master’s research focused on how driver monitoring systems affect driver trust with automated driving systems. During her masters’ Holland worked at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute helping conduct research in driver interaction with automated driving systems. Upon completing her master’s Holland pursued a PhD at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Greg Jamieson. Her PhD work focused on mental workload when using different augmented reality map display formats.
